Car rental company Avis has come up with something that will excite car enthusiasts the world over: the Avis Driving Ratio, which determines once and for all the best driving roads in the world.
In first place is the Peso da Régua to Pinhão in Portugal, second is the Highway 1 from Castroville to Big Sur, California, USA and third is the A535 from Holmes Chapel to Alderley Edge.
To determine the results, Avis recruited experts from quantum physics, F1 track design and a world renowned designer of rollercoasters.
A number of factors were considered, including bends, acceleration, cruising and braking.
