The state of North Dakota has introduced a distracted driving law that prohibits any distraction that impairs the ability to safely operate a vehicle.

The law expands the state’s existing law which prohibits the use of electronic communication devices while driving.

Drivers who commit a traffic violation while distracted can now be given a $100 citation for distracted driving.
